Penny Arcade

You and your kids will have a blast! There are tons of vintage games, pinball machines, kiddie rides and Skee-ball. The Skee-ball game is in a very small area, so on a busy day its kind of hard to play the game without getting hit or hitting someone when you throw the ball. Regardless of the tight squeeze for a lot of the games, you will still have fun wandering though the buildings finding the right game.

Cave of the Winds

A great family outing for almost all ages. Its not terribly far or a hard “hike” from where you meet your guide, but since they opened a new section this requires more of a hike then the original entrance. It might be a bit difficult for small children (like 1-3 year old’s especially if they want to walk themselves!) and older people.

Inside the cave in some spaces can get tight, so if you don’t like tight spaces, I would not recommend this tour. However, it also opens into huge spaces too. Its really quite an amazing cave system!

The tour guides are very knowledgeable and have cave jokes. Its a really good option during the summer months as the cave is much cooler.

After your tour you walk right into the gift shop, where there are bathrooms and a concession stand. You can walk outside on the deck and enjoy the amazing views.

Manitou Cliff Dwellings

A great option for the whole family, you’ll learn fascinating facts about the ancient Puebloan dwellings and the people that would have lived in them. You can go inside and touch the dwellings. Children will love exploring the structures.

There is a museum you can wander through as well as a gift shop. Like the Cave of the Winds, you will be able to enjoy amazing views after wandering through the dwellings, museum, and gift shop.

Bring your reusable cup and go on an adventure with the family as you find the towns natural mineral springs. There are 8, and each spring has a unique flavor and history.

Your kids can rate which one tastes the best and worst!

Hike Manitou Incline

This is not an easy hike, there are 2,744 steps. This is a good option for older children who can handle a 2 plus hour hard hike.

If you want to experience “the Incline” your views at the end will be AMAZING.

Don’t be surprised if you see people running up and down, just be aware of your surroundings and others using the trail. Bring water. You’ll need it. Oh and sunscreen.
